Questions, answered.

What is remineralising gum?

Chewing gum built around Nano-Hydroxyapatite, the mineral tooth enamel is made from, rather than around flavour alone. Perli pairs it with xylitol instead of sugar, on a gum base of chicle and mastic tapped from trees. Eighteen pieces to a pack.

Directions: chew one piece after meals or drinks, for at least 20 minutes.

What is Nano-Hydroxyapatite?

A nano-scale form of hydroxyapatite, the calcium phosphate mineral that makes up roughly 97% of tooth enamel. It has been used in oral care products in Japan since the 1980s.

It is the first ingredient we chose, and we print it in full on the front of every pack rather than folding it into a blend with a trademark on it.

Is chewing gum made of plastic?

Most ordinary gum is, in part. The “gum base” listed on a typical label is a synthetic polymer, which is a plastic. You will often see it written as polyisobutylene, polyvinyl acetate or styrene-butadiene rubber.

Perli's base is different: chicle and mastic, saps tapped from trees.

What happens to your teeth between brushes?

After anything you eat or drink, bacteria in plaque produce acid and the pH in your mouth falls. Below about pH 5.5, enamel begins to lose minerals. Saliva carries the pH back up over roughly twenty to forty minutes.

Chewing stimulates saliva. That is what the twenty minutes is for.

What is the difference between Royal Mint and Cinna Mint?

Royal Mint is crisp and classic, cool spearmint the whole way through. Cinna Mint is warmer and rounder, with real cinnamon over the mint.

Both are 18 pieces a pack and share the same base, the same mineral and the same sweeteners. The only difference is how they taste.

Is Perli sugar free?

Yes. Sweetened with xylitol and erythritol, both plant-derived. No sugar, no aspartame, and nothing synthetic in the base.

What is xylitol?

A naturally occurring sweetener, traditionally derived from birch, that tastes like sugar but is not sugar. It is one of the two sweeteners in Perli alongside erythritol.

One caution for pet owners: xylitol is toxic to dogs. Keep packs out of their reach.

How long should you chew it?

One piece after anything you eat or drink, chewed for a full twenty minutes. Coffee counts. Especially coffee.

Twenty minutes is the part most people cut short. The easiest fix is to pin it to something you already do: a commute, the walk back from lunch, or the first stretch of the afternoon.

How long does a pack last?

Eighteen pieces to a pack. Most of our customers find a two-pack lasts about a month, though it depends entirely on how often you chew. The supply durations shown on our product pages are typical for our customers rather than a fixed rate.

How much does Perli cost?

A single pack is $19.95. Buying more brings the price per pack down: two packs are $31.92, four are $55.86, and eight are $95.76, which works out at $11.97 a pack.

Discounts apply automatically at checkout, and shipping is free from four packs.

How does shipping work?

Every order ships tracked, Australia-wide, and usually arrives within 4 to 7 business days. Rates start at A$4.95 and are calculated at checkout based on where you are.

Shipping is free on orders of four packs or more.

What if I don't like it?

Thirty days to change your mind. If the texture or the flavour is not for you, email hello@perli.com.au and we will refund it. You do not need to send back what you have already chewed through.

Does Perli contain allergens?

Yes, and we print them plainly. Perli contains propolis, which can cause severe allergic reactions in some people, and egg, from eggshell-derived calcium.

Like all products sweetened with polyols, excess consumption may have a laxative effect. Always read the label.

Is Perli suitable for kids or during pregnancy?

Perli is formulated for adults. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering it for a child, check with your health practitioner first.
